Who runs this
“Understanding Property in Lahore” is an online course published by Adil Builders, Lahore, Pakistan. In this policy, “we” means Adil Builders and “the course” means the website at thelahorepropertyguide.com and the reading app served from it.
What we collect
You can read the free chapters without an account and without telling us anything.
- Your reading progress
- Which sections you have opened, your quiz scores, the badges you have earned, and your day streak. This is stored in your own browser first. It is only copied to our servers if you sign in.
- Your Google account details
- If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name and profile photo URL. We store these so your progress follows you between devices and so we can open your paid access on the right account. We never receive your Google password.
- Your access level
- A record of whether you have bought nothing, the reference guide, or the full course, and the date your account was created.
- Usage events
- Anonymous counts of things like opening a chapter, finishing a quiz, reaching the price page or tapping the WhatsApp button. We use these to see which parts of the course people abandon. Google Analytics also records standard technical data such as device type, browser and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- What you send us on WhatsApp
- If you buy, you send us a payment screenshot and the Gmail address your access should open on. We keep that message so we can confirm the payment and grant access.
We never see your payment details. Payment is made by bank transfer, JazzCash or Easypaisa directly to our account. No card number, bank password, CNIC or OTP is ever entered into this website, and we will never ask you for one.
Why we collect it
- To run the course — remembering where you stopped reading, keeping your quiz results, and opening the chapters you have paid for.
- To identify your purchase — matching the payment you send on WhatsApp to the Gmail address your access opens on.
- To improve the course — seeing, in aggregate, which chapters are read and which are abandoned.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to target you with advertising anywhere else.
Where it is stored, and who else can see it
The course is a small operation built on standard services. Your data passes through these providers, each under their own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase
- Sign-in, the database holding your progress and access level, file storage for the reference guide, and analytics. Servers are operated by Google. Firebase privacy
- Netlify
- Serves the website itself. Like any web host it keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses. Netlify privacy
- WhatsApp (Meta)
- Used for payment confirmation and support. Messages you send us are subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy as well as this one.
Because these are international services, your data may be stored on servers outside Pakistan.
How long we keep it
Progress stored in your own browser stays until you clear it — the course has a Reset my progress button on the You page that erases it. If you have signed in, we keep your account record for as long as your access is active, so that a purchase you made does not disappear. Ask us to delete it and we will.
Your choices
- Do not sign in. The free chapters work without an account. Nothing leaves your device.
- Reset your progress. The You page clears everything stored in your browser.
- Ask for a copy, a correction, or deletion. Message us and we will send you what we hold on your email address, fix it, or delete it. Deleting your account also removes your paid access.
- Block analytics. Any standard content blocker or the “Do Not Track” setting in your browser will stop the usage events described above.
Children
This course is about buying property and is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Security
Sign-in is handled by Google; we never receive or store your password. Access to the paid chapters and the reference guide is enforced by server-side rules, not by hiding things in the page. No system is perfect, and we will tell affected users promptly if we ever learn of a breach that involves their data.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect, we will update this page and change the date below. Continuing to use the course after a change means you accept the updated policy.
